It's important to note that the specific steps required may vary depending on the size and shape of the driveway, as well as the specific soil and climate conditions of the area. Preparation

Marking out the area: Use stakes and string to mark out the area where the driveway will be poured.

Excavation: Excavate the area to a depth of at least 6 inches. This will provide a stable base for the concrete.

Grading: Grade the excavated area to ensure proper drainage away from the house. The driveway should slope away from the house at a rate of at least 1/8 inch per foot.

Compaction: Compact the soil to create a solid base for the concrete. Use a plate compactor or a hand tamper to compact the soil.

Adding gravel: Add a layer of gravel to the excavated area. The gravel should be at least 4 inches deep and should be compacted using a plate compactor.

Installation

Formwork: Build formwork to hold the concrete in place. The formwork should be made from wood or metal and should be secured with stakes.

Reinforcement: Install reinforcement in the form of wire mesh or rebar to provide additional strength to the concrete.
Pouring the concrete: Pour the concrete into the formwork, making sure that it is level and smooth.

Finishing: Once the concrete has been poured, it needs to be finished. This involves using a trowel to smooth out the surface of the concrete.

Curing: Allow the concrete to cure for at least 7 days before using the driveway.

Residential Concrete Work

1. Concrete Driveways and Walkways: Concrete has been one of the most popular materials for high quality driveways and walkways for many years, and for good reason. Concrete is relatively inexpensive, highly durable, and low maintenance. Concrete is also extremely versatile, and can be poured in any design that you desire to create attractive and functional driveways and walkways.

2. Concrete Stairs:Concrete stairs are the best choice when you need high quality stairs that can be installed quickly. However, if the stairs are not designed and built correctly, the costs to correct them can escalate quickly. This is why it is best to go with an experienced concrete company, like Selvin's Landscaping. We will ensure that your stairs are set up with care and precision the first time, so there will be no need to pay to correct poor work.

3. Concrete Patios:A high quality concrete patio is an important feature of any home. Your patio extends the living space of your home into the exterior of your house and your back yard will become a peaceful getaway for you and your family. Give us a call if you want an attractive concrete patio that will be one of the centers of your home life for years to come.

4. Stamped Concrete & Flatwork:When most people think about concrete, they picture unattractive industrial settings and parking garages. However, with concrete stamping, your concrete flatwork can take on any appearance you desire. This helps us make concrete a truly attractive and welcome addition to your home.
